About Us…

by Sara on May 5, 2012

A little about us… We are both originally mid-westerners that made our way out to Bozeman, MT where we met. Chris is from Germantown Hills, Illinois (near Peoria, IL) and I was born in Lapeer, MI but grew up in Huron, Ohio. I stayed in the Midwest a bit longer then Chris and received my undergrad and master degrees in Accounting Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University. I also played volleyball for the Eagles while attending college. Chris left soon after high school and headed for Montana State University where he received his degree in Business Management and fell in love with the Big Sky Country. Chris used his degree more then I did as he opened his own very successful custom woodworking business that serviced the boom of Bozeman. I, on the other hand, didn’t use my degree at all and followed my passion for volleyball into playing a ton of sand ball and coaching at the college level. Eventually my coaching career took me to Bozeman and Chris. We met though a mutual friend at the great Bacchus Pub – thanks Eddie!! icon smile About Us...

Our sailing experience is limited but our passion to learn, travel and be adventurous is extraordinary. We hope to see parts of the globe that most people don’t even dream about. We named our boat Tumbleweed and only time will tell where all we’ll be blown around to!

Feel free to contact me whenever, about whatever! Internet is often limited but I will try to get back with you asap! My email address is: saraschaub@hotmail.com

Hey we met you both on the dock in New Zealand (we were the couple from Chicago) Anyways we just skied Big Sky and as were driving thru Bozeman we wondered how your journey was. My wife put tumbleweed in a google search and came up with your site! Awesome journey so far. We just wanted to say Hi!

Such a small world! I was probably still in Bozeman when you were passing though (although Chris was back on the boat working away). Next time we’ll have to try to coordinate better! Any plans for you guys to visit Australia?? :) I hope our paths cross again. -SARA

HI! Thanks for looking up the blog site! We ended up landing in Brisbane and even though the river is industrial, the city is beautiful. We hope to make it down to the Gold Coast at some point for some site seeing also! I hope you made it back to Australia after your debacle in Auckland… Oh, and I know the Men at Work song well! :)

It,s hard to believe that it has been about 9 months since you purchased Tumbleweed from me and have logged the miles you have.
ITs great to see you living the dream as you are.
Enjoy the voyage and look forward to keeping up with you

Hi Tumbleweed – love your videos and website. My wife and I have our sights buying a Manta 42 next year and beginning our 2nd full time liveaboard adventure. Your adventures are very motivating as we go through the sacrifices required to make it possible.

We hope to see you out there!!

Jon & Merry Nofziger
